I would go see an orthopedic doctor. They specialize in that kind of thing. I have a pinched sciatic nerve from a work injury and I see an Orthopedic doctor. I started out just seeing a chiropractor but I found that it made it worse.

My best advice, as I have had this trouble also. Find a physical therapist who does manual manipulation. They are much better than a chiropractor and much easier on you! I saw a chiropractor for 1 1/2 years. I got somewhat better, but still had problems. Then I finally met my physical therapist, and she got me all the way better. Best of Luck finding someone to help you!

I recommend seeing a chiropractor. You can get an appointment quickly. You may start to feel some relief right away.
Medical doctors will usually try muscle relaxers for a few weeks, first.
I go to a chiropractor and get relief every time I get a treatment.

You are very non-specific about location...and why you feel is a pinched nerve. There are many other conditions which reflect symptoms into the back.. Would suggest you have someone take a look at it and determine if it is a systemic problem first.

If I were you, I'd first go see my G.P. and tell him what pain I had and get an X-ray. Tell him you'd like him to refer you to a neurologist so your insurance will cover it.
Then let you neurologist treat it. I'd shy away from a Chiroproctor unless you are Damn sure you know he is a good one (make sure a couple of your CLOSE friends SWEAR by him first), because they can screw you up more than you are already.

First person you need to talk to is your family doc. You may be able to get a muscle relaxer or anti inflamitory to help it.
A massage therapist and chiropractor is ok but.....
so contact your doc and if doc cannot help he will tell you what your next option should be.

see a neurologist first who may refer you to a neurosurgeon to take a closer look through imaging.

if you have a family practitioner, see them first and ask them to refer you to a neurologist.
