I've heard a lot of wierd reasons. Some like "might as well" or "you'll burn in Hell". But this one shines...."Cuba is 75% Atheistic. Check out their economy." Thanks to a super groovy answerer "Get a Grip"!

Cuba's economy has squat to do with religion, but you knew that

How about "Because the bible says there is!"

Then there is the "I, , do not understand how could possibly be true, therefore 'God Did It!'"

"Two Million Christians Can't Be Wrong!"

All of them.

Honestly... believing just because you are afraid of Hell, is ludicrous. Enjoy the life you have now. I don't know what comes after. NO ONE DOES. I am betting on NOTHING.

Fear.
Or "Might as well believe in god just in case, and go to heaven."
Rather than actually having an open mind and exploring other possibilities.

Sweden is almost all atheistic/agnostic.

Anyway... the most ridiculous reason to believe in a god (i.e., any god) is because there is zero evidence to believe.

No evidence to believe in unicorns. Do you see me worshipping them?

The "just in case" excuse, aka Pascal's Wager. If that's the reason you believe in god, you should be put out of your misery and your internal organs should be given to a real person.

I would say the most ridiculous reason to believe in God would be, "that is how I was raised."
The most ridiculous reason not to believe in God is, "There is no proof."
The best reason to believe in God is, "you get to conquer death, if only in one's own mind."
