House surgical procedure, man. Sterilize a pair of scissors. Reduce the skin tag off at the base. Apply strain with a smooth cotton ball until the bleeding stops. Observe neosporin and a band-help. Do this as soon as a week or so, one or two at a time so you are now not blanketed in bandages and sores at all times. Your doctor can do that for you, however it's cosmetic as a substitute than medically quintessential, so your insurance will doubtless now not pay for it.

Do not try to cut off a skin tag - they bleed and bleed endlessly. I have several around my neck and I always do the thread thing. Tie a thread around it to cut off the circulation afterall it is a group of live skin cells. Periodically, you may need to re-tighten the thread. Once it starts to dry up, I usually squeeze the head of it to push the blood out of it (and back into my body, not out the end of it). It will eventually get to the point where it is dry enough to either fall off or if it is almost there and you are impatient, you may be able to twist it off but be careful as it may still bleed.
If your skin tag is large, or if it is on your face or some other sensitive area, it may be worth the money to get the doctor to remove it.

Depending on the placement of the skin tag, tie a piece of string (doesn't matter what color unless it's on your neck) tightly around the base of the skin tag. Within 24-48 hours it will "dry up" and begin to fall off. Doesn't leave any marks or scars; I just did this for one on my neck about a month ago.

Spend the money. Call a Dr.s office and ask if they have a Dr. or nurse practitioner that can remove it. Then ask how much it will cost. Save the money and have it done medically. You don't want infection or scars.

I have insurance so my Dermatologist did it for free. My boyfriend had a few and we just tied some Dental Floss around it and pulled it off. It only hurts for a second.

Tie a piece of white thread around it, fairly tight. This will cut off the blood supply and it will fall off eventually.

It will cost a whole lot of big $$$$ if you wind up in the ER. Don't try it yourself.. go to the doctor.
ps.. I do know a guy who wound up in the ER. He bled quite a bit.

There is not an inexpensive alternative. They should be removed by a doctor. Unlike what someone suggested above DO NOT remove them yourself!
