Lot's of water. It is actually not much different than treating a hang-over since both are caused by de-hydration.

Put yourself on your "new schedule" as soon as you arrive (or better yet, as soon as you board the plane). If you start taking naps in the middle of the day, the jet lag could last for days or weeks.

The most important remedy is water. Lots of water. Get a 1.5 litre bottle and drink as much as you can. This is proven.

Have another bottle beside your bed to drink in the middle of the night when you wake up all dehydrated still.

The only other thing to do is to try and stay awake as long as possible and not take a nap before bed time.

take a nap in the afternoon after you arrive there and then try to follow the routine of the natives. the more you can follow it, the easier jet lag is to get rid of.

If you're arriving in the morning, sleep as much as you can on board. If you're arriving at night, try not to sleep as much on board. Drink enough water and eat enough. Have a day rest after your flight to adjust your body clock.
