food grease

I went through this a few years ago, Two options here, conservative treatment at home or go to the vets right now. It's a great thing actually that the dog is throwing up, he's trying to get all that nasty crap out of his system. As long as the vomiting doesn't last more than 2 days, and he is not dehydrated it should be fine. If he becomes weak, dehydrated (gums feel dry or tacky or become pale, can't keep any fluid down) or any other symptoms he needs vet treatment. Most healthy dogs can get through this just fine on their own, but some need vet treatment especially if it is a small dog, elderly or has other health problems . Do Not Feed Anything! Keep him off all food for 24 hours, and then if he is not vomiting try a small amount of boiled rice/potatoes and boiled chicken/beef. Make sure water is available at all times.

My dog accidentally got a hold of an entire bar of Dove soap once (sidebar - for those of you who chastise us dog owners whose dogs ate something they shouldn't have, accidents do happen even if you are extremely careful) and he ate it, and puked most of it out about an hour later. He did that a few more times over the next few days and had some diarrhea for a few days, but once his system got it out it was fine. I did call a vet service immediately after I had discovered what had happened and they just said to expect exactly what happened, make sure he got plenty of water, and keep an eye on him for anything worse than a little vomit and loose stools. Grease, being organic,(I assume you meant food grease?) probably won't be too much worse, but definitely call a vet just to be sure.

Vet. Don't self-medicate with rice and chicken broth. This may dilute it, but if your dog ate too much (you don't say what kind of grease), he may need medication to help get him back to even being able to eat.

probably nothing to worry about, but I would give your vet a call and just ask if they think he will be ok, expecially if the vomiting continues. his stomach is probably just upset from all that gross grease. dogs will eat anything!

Your dog is doing what comes naturally. Let him continue to purge his system. Just make sure he has lots of water to drink so he doesn't dehydrate.
