Do you think that homosexuals should leave the tradtion of marrige?
alone? Do they have right to adopt children? I personally think that marrige is between and Male and a female. I think that the family is under attack by radical homosexuals.

Homosexuals do not choose to be gay, they were born that way. Therefore they should be allowed to marry and adopt children. Why straight people care is beyond me...it doesn't really affect them. It's discrimination.

Marriage has changed countless times throughout history. Women used to be treated as property and both interracial marriage and divorce used to be illegal. When people tried to change these things, there was resistance.

The family has changed as well. Entire communities used to live together as a family. The Native Americans, for example didn't have a concept of the single mother and father and they managed to function quite well as a society.

My point? The definitions of marriage and family are constantly changing. Same-sex marriage and families are another change. People are fighting very strongly for these rights and because of this, I believe that eventually, they too will become part of the norm.

It's a non-issue to me except that it might be good for the economy. Divorce lawyers will prosper like never before, real estate business will profit when the court ordered divorce settlements force home sales, etc. If gays are so keen to be married I say let them join the fun and find out what it's really like.

Remember the old saying - Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

Yes, we all deserve freedom and justice, marriage is joke any more. The average length of a marriage is less then five years. They have shows on TV were women dress up in a wedding dress an climb a cake... that makes a joke out of the tradition. If any one can adopt a child and take care of them and love them and support them it should not matter if your gay or straight. And their bigger issues facing the US right now this is the last thing you should be worried about.

I believe in equal treatment under the law. Period.

I don't want the State telling me who I can marry (and within my lifetime my hubby and I would have been forbidden to marry in much of the United States), so I don't want the State telling anyone who they can marry (subject only to the necessary restrictions like the people involved being able to enter into a contract).

I was raised by a single mother. I wouldn't have minded another so I could have another parent. All that matters to children is that they have people that love them and help them grow.
It's not up to anyone to tell anyone else how to live their lives. If an adoption agency deems a homosexual couple suitable parents that should be the end of that.

I also wanted to add that as a married women I don't feel my marraige would be in any danger if gays could marry.

As long as the laws are there to protect hetero and gay couples, I see no need for any marriage for either.
Marriage was created by man to have traceable parents for the children. Nothing else.
Marriage is not required for producing offspring.
I see no need for gay couples to be married, but if that is what makes them happy, so be it.
All that gay marriages do is make the lawyers smile that much more.

Why should it be between a man and a woman only ?
Is it really fair to take away the right of two people sharing hapiness and love together despite being the same sex.
Also do it matter who adopts kids. As long as they have a nice home with loving parents. Does it really matter ?
Should we really believe everything the bible says.

I think that people who are not heterosexuals should still have the right to get married. They aren't attacking families. Its not like they wait on a families front lawn with bats getting ready to take a sway as soon as they open the door.

Of course you're more important than other people, so you should be able to tell them which basic liberties they get to have and which not.

Did giving women the right to vote "attack" you? Did the end of segregation "attack" you? Why does giving gays equal rights attack you?

Edit: It's disgusting to see people claim that because their religion does not condone it, it should not be legal. Let's make it illegal for women to teach while we're at it, isn't that what your bible says?
