really the deck doesn't matter much just the skater, any skater can skate with any deck and 100 people will tell you 100 different things to get. I use zero and almost. Zero's are an all out everything kind of board, many people will agree but it's really trial and error with yourself and I understand you can't aford all the different decks, and if it's so hard to choose just get a blank deck, I use a blank deck from time to time, works good and is cheaper than most. There are some boards out there that can be weaker than some but i've broken every kind of board i've owned and I don't weigh much :-P. good luck have fun

my choice is an element all the way but if you are just begining you need to get an indpendant or dog town board

Everyone is going to tell you a different board. I like flip or birdhouse.
