My friend had hamsters, and I've had gerbils before...My gerbils have been alive for 4 years, and I know hamsters can live a pretty long time when well cared for...

uh, this doesn't really look like a dog question, but my hamster lived about 4 and a half years.

usually 3-4 years... i had 2... my first one lived to be 5 and the second lived to 2... my friend's lived to be 8... it really depends on how old they are when you get them and how well you take care of them...
