It helps reduce or eliminate the build-up of dust and molds/bacteria in your a/c system. If you have allergies, this will drastically reduce your reactions to the air in your house. Yes, it helps!!! They say there are more contaminates in the air in your house than there are allergens outdoors.

well it doesn't eliminate however the ac filters may need to be cleaned so it doesn't shoot out dust.
