my son was in the ER this morning he has had very bad achy pains in his thighs on and off for about 3-4 weeks. And occasionally would throw up and then feel better. He is seven and has had an xray of his leg(negative) and a catscan of head(negative) I am thinking maybe its either really terrible growing pains or juvenile arthriitis or lyme disease.... Or am i overreacting and its growing pains?

Take him to his family doctor. That should have been your first step, as the ER doesn't have all the resources to give your son the workup that he may need. His doctor can do bloodwork to determing lyme disease, or juvenile athritis, if that is what he suspects after examining him.

Getting to the absolute truth of the matter should be your expressed goal here---whatever has to be done---and--how many tests or doctors or anything else !! With children especially, the key is--the earlier, the better in finding what the causes are and starting some plan of action !!
There are entirely too many things that this COULD be to be writting it off as --- a this or that whatever--- that could come back to bite you really hard in a short trip down the road !!
Get this youngster to someone with the guts to take on finding out exactly what is going on here--- and -- if it turns out to BE nothing--- then -- so what ? BUT IF IT IS SOMETHING---the effort you make at this early stage COULD be the ticket to getting it dealt with the best that can be !!!!

Bring your son to a regular General Practitioner who can evaluate him over time & who will make the proper referrals to Specialists.
The ER simply is not familiar with your son, & many things can get overlooked.

check with different doctor. If more than 2 doctors say the same thing, that will be confirmed the case. Don't reply on one doctor. There are lots of malpractice and idiotic doctors in the world!

I would tell your doctor that you would like another opinion. Take him to a specialist in that field.
