Actually Hugo Chavez has very definite leanings towards Marxism.
Hes a dictator in the making. He has very strong ties to La Raza Unida here in the USA and he backs them 100% in the Aztlan dream. His brilliant propaganda move to offer the poor in the USA gas at lower prices was a great political ploy to discredit Bush and his administration. Yes he will place an iron hand around the throats of the people of Venezuela. It will be worse than Cuba.More restrictive and oppressive.

I don't think so. The new left is not looking to isolate from the rest of the world, it is only looking to put a hard fist on the problems of Latin America. Democracy has proved to not work in countries with low education, so a dictator is needed to enforce the existing laws. Cuba doesn't have internet, Venezuela does. The largest shopping mall in Latin America is located in Venezuela, and it was supported by the Chavista government. So my final answer is no.

Venezuela will become the next cuba. You are smart to see this 10 to 15 years before it happens.
Hugo chavez is:
-Seizing businesses
-Cutting off trade to his nation
-Alienating himself from other countries (calling leaders devils, etc.)
Venezuela is a beautiful country, it is sad to see it's decline.
