Everywhere I look in here it seems Atheists are working double-overtime to push their views onto everyone, and bashing anyone who disagrees with them. There are many who seem to be working full-time here - all day, every day tearing people to shreds. Ironically, they love to accuse religious people of "pushing their ideas". Would it be easier for Atheists to get their point across if they weren't so pushy? Come to think of it, I'm not so sure that Atheists are even real.. Can anyone tell me if they really exist? I mean, I've never actually seen one, but the whole idea sounds too ridiculous to me. I think the whole "Atheism" thing is entirely made up. Can anyone shed some light on this?

A lot of people who believe they are right (be it regarding religious ideas, scientific ideas, political ideas, whatever!) feel the need to "enlighten" others. Translation, convince everyone to switch to their way of thinking. It's not a flaw in the religion or concept, it's a flaw in the person. And it's a lot more wide spread that you think. Nobody is happy to just have a belief or opinion, eveyone else has to aknowledge it as "The Right One".

It's sad really.

For further study in this point check out any forum that discusses some of the following ideas:

"Who is the best James Bond actor?"
"Who was better Lennon or McCartny"
"Accoustic or Electric Dyllan"
"American presence in Iraq"
"Gun control"

I see no such thing - that atheists are pushing their belief that god doesn't exist. What I've seen are answers from atheists to questions posed from ignorant or otherwise stupid people. The same amount of zealous xians preaching their wares. Questions posed from atheists do not "push" their ideas as much as they QUESTION your xian beliefs (though this is untrue for you xians).

Yeah, there's an idea - atheists are fake. They're just figments to all religious minded peoples' imaginations.

For me, I'm a proud atheist and I tell everyone who inquires that (except for certain family members whom I would completely alienate if I told). However, there are people who would rather say they were gay than atheist (not that there's anything wrong with being gay, it's just an example!). We are a group that is highly persecuted.. more so than xians. Maybe that's why you don't see or know any.

I can only assure that I exist.

And there are more and more of us every day.

I can see that you have no experience with anything other than religion, or you would realize that atheists are pushing nothing on you.

It is exactly the opposite. Religion pushes itself on us, every minute of every day. But luckily, that is finally starting to change.

The Bush Administration has had a lot to do with making atheists finally stand up and say, that we're not going to put up with religious insanity in this country anymore.

Hello, I am an atheist. I am really real...really and truly an atheist and proud of that fact.

Ginger...I am NOT agnostic. I really, REALLY believe that god does NOT exist. After most of my life spent in religion, I have come to the conclusion that it is all a crock of bs. The bible is a complete work of fiction. Some of the characters may be real, but the rest is bs. But y'all christians feel free to keep believing. I wouldn't dream of taking that away from you.

Why do Christians try to push their Garbage on others? Atheist are interested in truth. It is important that everyone be exposed to truth. That they be allowed to use their mind. It is important that their mind not be so filled with garbage so that they cant reason. For those of you who have already sealed your fate we are really not interested in you. It is the younger generation coming on getting education now that we are concerned with. We are doing a pretty good Job too. Churches you are loosing your youth. Christianity is going to the dogs. In a few more years your Churches will just be large dog houses.

After decades of having Christianity shoved down my throat I felt it was time I started pushing back a little bit. I think religion in any form is absolutely ridiculous and can't believe any intelligent human being actually believes a higher power exists.

I get an occasional Jehovah's witness bugging me about their religion but I have yet to have a physicist or paleontologist annoy me on a Saturday morning dropping off copies of Origin of the Species or Hawking's History of time. So I would say there are no Atheists pushing ideas on me but I can't say the same about well intentioned but ignorant others proselytizing false dogma.

Some of us are very vocal about our views. I wouldn't say anyone is forcing anything on you... I can't come to your house and torture you until you renounce your god, i wouldn't want to either. since when is making knowledge and ideas available "forcing?"

Christianity on the other hand, with it's government puppets and great masses do in fact force their views on others. Christmas music in every store in December, legislation against basic human rights based on their beliefs, threatening people who are too naive to not believe in Hell into believing certain things out of fear... Don't get me started on the indoctrination and misinformation heaped upon the children of this country, who's minds are not yet mature enough to understand the implications of what is force fed to them from birth.

When you view it in context the atheists are merely whispering in the corner of the room.

Your specific scenario is unrealistic and particularly plenty a double way highway. you assert that the atheist is injury because of the fact the gasoline station proprietor is refusing to sell gasoline to them yet wager what, the gasoline station proprietor merely lost earnings. He/She is merely hurting themselves via dropping a shopper. (The unrealistic section is that no certainly one of their top ideas could ask what faith a individual offering products and centers are.) Plus if the variety of individual is injury via what somebody else says approximately their faith and refuse to sell them products or centers, then they heavily would desire to take a breather. it is surely ridiculous to get paintings up over something so trivial particularly if it is going to break themselves interior the form. additionally, you reported politeness and understand? you have forgotten that there are Christians who're attempting to transform those in different religions or atheists to their faith. in addition they point out in the event that they do no longer, they are going to bypass to HELL! it is not polite and that they do no longer look to be respecting that others are unfastened to decide for their faith. historic past has shown that the folk (no longer the religion itself) following the religions reason conflicts while they do no longer settle for different perspectives' and take a examine out to rigidity their concept onto them. in case you do not have faith me, merely pop open a text textile e book and you will see that there are a number of conflicts as a results of non secular ideals.
