I went tanning for too long (stupid), got burned, and now my face is peeling really badly. I put a lot of lotion on and that doesn't help at all. Is there any way to get rid of the flaky skin other than lotion? Thanks

Ok I deserve to get best answer because your situation is mine and i finally found the cure ! Todays Thursday, I went tanning last Friday and got so fried I couldn't stop the peeling, i tried everything. If you try to scrub it off it damages the bottom new layer of skin which just makes it peel again, if you use aloe it turns you all crusty and feeling like a raisin and eventually peel over and over, i tried all sorts of lotions, i finally splurged and bought Aquaphor Original Ointment, and I'm so glad i did because it stared working in a few hours. Its like a Vaseline. Put it on all over your body and leave it alone. After a few hours the skin is so moisturized that the dry skin falls right off and your left with super hydrated skin. I can't believe this worked and I'm so happy it did because I have to go to Hawaii soon and I'd hate to be peeling. Trust be, buy this stuff, its $20 but it'll last a long time and i really works. Dermatologist recommended and clinically proven. I've attacted the web site so you can see what to look for at your local CVS, or any other drug store.

That sucks, but your face peeling is a good sign, all the dead skin is coming off. Just apply aloe vera A LOT to keep your skin moisturized. There's nothing you can do to stop the peeling though sorry. And don't exfoliate too hard, it will damage the new skin coming in and it could wrinkle or look hard.

Put a fairly thick layer of Hydrocortisone cream on your face and let it sit for as long as possible untouched. Then gently scrub your face with a wash cloth or facial brush to remove the loose dead skin. This has always been the best for me and your skin is soft and will stop peeling very quickly. After washing put another thin layer on under your make up if you like

nothing is going to help except to just let the dead skin peel off. Lotion will just keep your skin moisturized. It won't stop the peeling. Sorry!

just for your face use an abrasive srub like apricot exfoliant to scrub off around your mouth and nose and forhead.. scrub like crazy because i know it looks gross.. just do it once to avoid a huge mess.. do it at night so your face will heal alittle before you go to work or school or whatever. then put lots of face cream thick like cetaphil or oil of olay. Then do it again like Friday or so. Good luck
