not a big fan of jeeps.. they are kind of like driving tanks. my mom's jeep is in the shop every other week getting fixed up and i've never been to the shop with my toyota camry (oh yea, a CAMRY playa) It will last year about 2/3 years before it starts to crash and burn. Nevermind the gas... if i were you id go for a smaller car or even a sports car if you have the money. with older smaller cars you can customize it easier for your liking, ive never seen a jeep that didnt have all stock parts other than show cars. prolly becuase they die before people finish. its your car + your money.. your decision

Well I can't tell you what you should do or not do, but I have a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 180,000 miles on it with the 4.0 Liter inline 6 engine and haven't had any major problems. Your 07 isn't worth it I don't think, as since Jeep has discontinued the inline 6 engines the performance, and gas mileage has suffered. My Jeep gets 26-28MPG and its full time 4WD. The newer Grand cherokees with the 3.7L V6 get if your lucky 22MPG. So like I mentioned the gas mileage has suffered. Supposedly the V6 has more horsepower but I really can't see where it would help as the engine size is smaller so the engine has to work harder to move the vehicle. So I would suggest something older, and if you decide to get a jeep wranger looke for one with the 4.0 Liter inline 6.

Have an 04 Grand Cherokee...it does 20-21 on the road with a 4.7 Ltr V8....5 Speed Auto..Quadratrak 2..and regular fuel. A lot of fuel mileage depends on driving habits.....FYI. Some owners report 500k on their jeeps...maintenance is important.

As a former Jeep owner, don't buy it. They deteriorate rapidly and are very unreliable.
