I honestly cannot see how it could offend anyone, why did it cause so much fuss. It isn’t about Jesus it's about a man called Brian who lived at the same time as Jesus, the only seen Jesus is in is when he is telling a story and some one right at the back can't hear him. The bit with the leper some very strict religious people might have been offended by. Did Mary Whitehouse see the film? And what happened to her.

It makes fun of Christians, not Jesus. I can see how it would offend many people, as people don't like to have their sillinesses pointed out.

Monty Python can be very very funny...but also very very irreverant. While I'm not personally offended, I can understand why some Christians would be.
I don't understand why Monty Python & Co should limit their talents to Christianity, however. There are so many other religions out that could benefit from their satiric wit.
I'd like to see one about Islam, for instance...that is, if they can work up the intestinal fortitude.......

It was voted the funniest film of all time in Britain a little while back. It is anti people not thinking for themselves so there will always people who will feel it cuts a little close to the bone. The bit with the shoe and the gourd is a little bit painful.

And yes, all together now..

"every sperm is sacred, every sperm is good...."

No, it made me laugh a lot, and I consider myself a Christian as I love Jesus. A couple of strong words here and there, that is about the only thing I would warn the sensitive for.

The movie was hilarous though I am sure it make some fundamentalists with no sense of humor squirm. Particularly where it points out that religions can spring out of no where with an astonshing speed because people want something to believe in.

I saw it and now I worship Brian as the one and only Messiah. Anyone who says differently is a heretic and must be put to the sword.

I thought it was hilarious and also a brilliant piece of movie making in that it showed just how ridiculous the idea of religion is and just easy it would be to 'create' a god to be worshipped.

anything by Monty Python is brilliant. They were much more offensive in "The Meaning of Life".

I can see how some folks wouldn't like it but I enjoyed it as a comedy satire.

I think some people don't want to accept how silly their religions are. Therefore they don't like it when people ridicule their religions.
