It depends on what you believe about him. If you believe he is the Jewish Messiah, you can proclaim yourself a Messianic Jew. There are such congregations. Practically though, you would likely be a better Christian than a Jew. (Some would say you were mocking Judaism.) It's probably best to make a clear choice. Believers in the divinity of Christ are Christians.

For the first 70 years or so after his reported death, the only way you could be accepted as a Christian, was to be Jewish initially.

Then they started writing the Gospels, and relaxed all the standards, and any pig eating foreigner could become Christian.

It has been down hill for religion ever since. Especially since 'Christians' decided that if you were Jewish, you were damned forever.

But then they think that of anyone who isn't Christian, so you are not alone.

well the jewish religion believes that the messiah hasn't come to earth yet. you family religion can be jewish, but you can believe a totally different thing. jesus is real. if you believe that god sent his only son to earth to die on the cross for our sins and rose again on the 3rd day and have invited god into your heart then you are a christian.

You can be a Jew (ie born of a jewish mother) and believe in Jesus, but that makes you an apostate.

A belief in Jesus in completely antithetical to the tenets of Judaism and, under Jewish Law, one who does so, especially one who does so and tries to lure others to his ways, is liable to the death penalty.

MZ Jakes got it right.

Jews for Jesus are Christians, not Jews! You might consider yourself a Jew, but Jews will not. If you were to study Judaism, you would understand clearly why it's not possible.

No. People that believe in Jesus think that he was the Messiah, their Savior. Jews believe that the Messiah hasn't come on Earth yet.

Although the Qur’an mentions only 25 names of prophets, Allah makes it clear that He has sent many prophets to humanity. There is no tribe or nation or race to which Allah has not sent His Guidance.

The greatest prophets are Nuh (Noah), Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), Isa (Jesus), and Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon them all).

An outstanding aspect of the Islamic belief in prophethood is that Muslims believe in and respect all the messengers of Allah with no exceptions. Since all the prophets came from the same One God, for the same purpose - to lead mankind to Allah - belief in them all is essential and logical.

The belief in all the prophets of Allah is an article of faith in Islam. Although Jews reject Jesus Christ and Muhammad, and Christians reject Muhammad, Muslims accept them all as messengers of Allah who brought guidance to mankind.

The deference and esteem with which Muslims hold Jesus and his mother Mary, peace be upon them, is readily manifest on reading the Quran. Surah (Chapter) nineteen of the Quran is named after Mary (Maryam in Arabic). The third surah of the Quran is entitled Al-Imran, meaning the family of Imran (father of Moses). In these two chapters of the Quran the lives of the Virgin Mary and her child, and before them that of John the Baptist (Yahya) are represented magnanimously in terms of compassion, grace, love, mercy and miracle.

I hope that this introduction can help educate people about the position of Jesus in Islam. Thx.
