Not a few years ago. But, it is getting closer to a possibility. Why? Buddhist leaders are beginning to recognize the wisdom of Jesus, and they have also stopped preaching reincarnation. Why? They have done the math, and found reincarnation as a general concept is mathematically impossible. Of course, there is wiggle room for a few exceptions.
Missionaries in the orient have reported a lot of Buddhist continuing to follow the "path" of Buddha and also profess Jesus' message as a way of going to Heaven.
Buddhism is not really a formal religion, they do not worship Buddha, they use the Buddha statues to remind them of the principles taught by Sidhartha Buddha.
Yes there is a way, but Bubba Preachers will always say "NO Way".

Here's what defines one as a Buddhist:
You have to accept that: 1) all things are IMPERMANENT 2)everything, including emotions are SUFFERING, there is nothing that is purely "pleasurable" 3) All phenomena are illusory and empty 4) enlightenment is beyond concepts
You can "call" yourself anything you like but to be a true Buddhist these are the things you understand and accept. Digging deeply and meditating you cannot be Christian because of the fact that there is no "creator god", therefore no "son of god" etc. Buddhism eschews dualistic thinking, Christianity supports it, even FEEDS it and demands it, etc. You can accept that Jesus might have been a teacher of some sort, maybe even teaching some form of the Dharma, but as Christianity is today... no, you wouldn't make much of a Buddhist.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama himself has said that Buddhism stands as it is without needing any mixtures from other religions that only confuse the practitioner. I say, in agreement, that Buddhism doesn't NEED anything else.

No you cannot. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and The Life. There is no other way to the Father other than Him. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot choose to be in the middle.
Revelation 3: 15-16
15I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
Buddhists have a good thought of trying to live a good life. To become a Christian does not require a good life. It requires trusting Jesus alone for what He did on the cross for your salvation. Nothing taken away from that and MORE IMPORTANTLY, nothing you do in life will add to that act to be more deserving.
Psalm 14:2-4 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)
Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society
2 The LORD looks down from heaven
on the sons of men
to see if there are any who understand,
any who seek God.
3 All have turned aside,
they have together become corrupt;
there is no one who does good,
not even one.
4 Will evildoers never learn—
those who devour my people as men eat bread
and who do not call on the LORD ?

Yes, though is a hard and long way to achieved some accomplishment, simply because whatever you learn from Buddhism its strictly to keep and to do good and not for your own Earthly purposes. Yes, you can, although you need to stress a strict discipline, Buddhism tech the control of our flesh Body and mind as well that promote a more mental discipline, physical pain needs to be endure, at less that is what I learn the Dali lama in the monks from Tibet practice. I'm Catholic and although there was a little mix-understanding. my recommendation to you is to begin reading a book by the name of "The Third Eye", the Author is Lognsang Rampa. Good luck. Remember "Disipline".

The Greek word gnosis from which we have Gnosticism and the Sanskrit bodhi from which we have Buddhism have exactly the same meaning "knowledge" which refers to a knowledge that transcends. I believe both religions are of the same but one believes that Jesus died for our sins and rose again. The other believes that Jesus was a man. So you can take a little of Buddhism but when it comes to Christianity you have to believe that Jesus was sent by God to die for our sins.

not a problem and do not let anyonetell you different. Gandhi was Christian Muslem, Hindu and Buddhist. He was smarter than either of us so it can be done. B is a philosophy and God has no problem with people searching.
They just must know they have already found God and other searches are permissible.
Any Christian tells you different make them show you scripture and then make sure they are not twisting something. I know my scripture there is no support for a no in this area.
also there are different schools of thought in B

Buddha and Jesus taught the same ideas of Nirvana/Holy Spirit and ultimate reality. It is very possible to accept doctrine from both. Your real problem is relying on labels for yourself. Do not try to label yourself. You don't have to consider yourself defined by either label, you can simply be you.

Not if you take the bible literally. But Jesus and the Buddha did teach many of the same things. A Unitarian Universalist church might be for you.
