I look for three things when reading nutrition labels:

First, the number of grams of protein; second, the number of grams of sugar, and third, any overly weird or ultra-bad-for-you chemicals that may be in the foods.

If you mean how do you read nutrition labels the "right" way, I don't know that there is any one certain way to read them. All I know is that manufacturers base their information on the assumption that the person eating the food is on a 2,000 calorie diet.

Depends upon what you're tracking... Calorie intake, fat intake, protein or carbs... etc

For example, I want to lose weight and I have to watch my blood sugars.

1. I start at the top which gives me serving size and servings per container. Some candy bars are 2 servings when they should be a single serving.

2. I look at calories per serving.

3. Carbohydrates per serving... paying close attention to the sugar content.

4. Sometimes I look at the fat conent.
