i have my nipples pierced and last night i decided to take my rings out over night to let them soak.... its the first time i have left them out for so long and now im having trouble getting them to go back in... it really hurts and it feels like in the centre of my nipple its closing up already.... can this happen so soon? can i keep trying to painfully push the rings back through?

OK I am sure this has already been answered but just in case.

Nipples again like tongues are in a constant state of healing. They close quickly and rightfully so. 20minutes on a full boil in a pan would have been more than sufficient or 2 to 3 hours in a glass of H2O2. Hydrogen peroxide. I own an autoclave so I have an advantage but a full boil for 20 minutes is more then sufficient. I know one shop in my town will for a price autoclave your jewelry for you, at over 500 degrees it's a good thing to have done. Not all jewelry can be autoclaved so make sure you have real surgical steel.

Now to talk about the damage. You are trying to re-pierce your nipples using a semi-blunt object! If I were a piercer you had called with this I would have told you to leave them out then come back in 7months so I could re-pierce them for you. I hope this is what you did. Either way, good luck.

6 months is generally a cut-off time for hole closure, so i'd say the hole is just tight, not closed up (this , of course, assuming you pierced your nipples at least 6 months ago). Heat will make the skin more elastic which might aide in getting the ring back in. Try it after a shower or something. Good luck!

I honestly don't know what you should do by yourself. I would go back to the person who pierced you. I had mine pierced for a year and a half before I took them out for good and they closed up overnight. You probably don't want to do this again just because that skin isn't anything like your ears where you can just take the rings out and not worry about them. But call your piercer ASAP, he'll know the best course of action and probably won't charge you anything.

Good luck

Yes, nipples take an extremely long time to heal. How long have you had them pierced? They take months before you can leave them out for any amount of time. Try putting some ice on them to numb them and push the ring through. Just be careful not to hurt yourself. You may have to go get them re pierced. The same thing happened to one of mine. I had had them pierced for a few months, and only left them out for a day, and I never got one of them back in.

I have mine pierced, and the longest I ever left the ring out was when I shower. Even then it becomes diffucult to put it back in. I would go to wear you had it pierced and have them put the piercing needle back in. They should do it for free. It might be less painful if you just do it yourself though. Try different angles. Also, make sure you use surgical steel rings or barbells. Don't use the cheap rings. This will make them close up faster too, do to reactions you may have to the "cheap" materials. Good luck!!!

i'd go to a professional asap with the ring and everything just to be safe!

you don't want to get an infection or anything in case it has closed!

good luck!

Why don't you just leave them out. I'd rather suck on your nipples without the rings.

The only way to get them back in is to push them through, but this might cause some bleeding and it can become infected if you don't care for them right away. The hole is considered "an open wound" to your body, so the only thing from keeping it open is the rings you had in them, when you took them out, your body automatically tried to heal that wound.

You might have to go back to the place where you got them pierced and have them put your jewelry back in. Body piercings close quickly, so it's best not to be without your jewelry for extended periods of time.

ow! that sucks! I got multiple pieces of jewelry so i never have to have my piercing empty. I woke up one night with the thing out! I replaced it as fast as possible and it hurt! I know it wasn't all night, but it freaked me out. I wouldn't want to go through that again. i hope ur ok!
