What is better a digital camera with Optical Zoom or one without ? And why ?

Optical zoom is a neat feature that almost all compact cameras have, but for the best picture quality, use an SLR and a lens with a fixed focal length, and zoom with your feet! A fixed lens will avoid problems such as the "fisheye" effect, and will prevent artifacts like purple fringing. High-end adjustable zoom lenses will minimize these effects, but to get it perfect takes a fixed lens!

If you're asking about optical zoom versus digital zoom, "digital zoom" does not technically exist. Digital zoom merely crops out the edges of the picture, and displays the middle section of the picture on the screen so it appears larger. If your camera came with even a simple editing program, it will allow you to crop a frame later and more precisely. If you don't want to bother and you want to use whatever comes out of the camera, digital zoom will be fine.

All other things being equal: With.

Although pretty much ALL (but the very cheapest) digital cameras have optical zoom lenses.

I'd say just about every digital camera has some kind of optical zom today. If you buy as suggested a DSLR you'll be paying big bucks.
