Just wondering, because about a month ago this kid from high school came up to me and told me he was now an officer. The real messed up part, is that this kid is not sane. He was the "weird" stalker kid that always chased girls around kind of like a 3rd grader in the halls. I know he never went to college and I don't even know if he graduated from high school. What does this say about the selection process of becoming a cop. It doesn't seem right to me. Got retards running the streets...

Sounds like a normal cop....one who was bullied as a child and needs the authority and power to bully people as an adult.

Depends on what state you are in, and the standards set for by that state. in Texas, while it isn't hard, it is a lengthy process. There will be drug testing, psych evaluations, polygraph testing, and a slew of interviews. Some agencies are now even running consumer credit checks.

It really depends on the city or town that is seeking the employment. However, you do need to get a high score on a civil service test which I believe has a series of pychologically based questions.

It doesn't mean anything. If your ability to perceive empirical evidence is so nil, you've got a problem. I personally don't know, nor ever seen, a cop I would even remotely trust. Anywhere. It's a bad idea that needs to be replaced.
