Ok, so my boyfriend posted this, and at first I thought it was sweet, then my dad and mom (who live in another state) saw it, and they got really upset and called me and were like are you having sex with him? ( I am almost 20 years old, but I was raised in a strict home, and I wont have sex before marriage) because that is what that whole thing is about, its from a movie about a man who is blind and recognizes women by the smell of their... personal parts. This is the post:
Some say a scent of a woman can lingure on and on. If one has found a memory or an item from that girl that scent shall forever lingure on. I've found the one I love and want to be with for all time. Her scent is always with me, I love her and I always will.
So I dont know if I should ask him to take it down, or if I should ignore the warning my parents gave, which is that this is his way of telling his friends that he is getting sex, and that I am where to get it. help... thank you.

I think it is a very sweet sentiment. It doesn't have be about the smell of the personal areas. It could be about the smell of your hair or perfume. Don't certains smells make you think of certain people?. Like going to grandma's, my grandma's house smelled like vanilla and peppermint, I can't smell these smells without thinking of her. ... When you are close to your boyfriend, do you not smell his "smell"? The smell that is him. The smell of soap or cologne mixed with his natural smells. I love the smell of my husbands pillow, it has his smell, I always cuddle his pillow. (my husband works nights)
It is not a bad comment. Relax, you know yourself, don't worry about what others are thinking. Sounds like you have a very sweet guy.

I don't think you are overreacting at all. Anything that makes YOU uncomfortable AT ALL is worth talking to him about. I find that when talking about sensitive subjects with my guy, it's better if I make a list first of the points I want to make : WHAT made me uncomfortable, WHY it made me uncomfortable, WHO made me uncomfortable, and HOW the situation can be fixed. If you think out your arguement beforehand, you are going to get your point across better. After you talk to your boyfriend about the situation, he may or may not understand or fix the situation the way you want him to. I haven't heard of the movie you are talking about. If I read just those few sentences, I would think it was sweet. However, since you and he know the movie and what the movie is talking about, I would want it removed from his site. If he doesn't assuage your worries or do as you wish, then you may need to make a decision. Do I keep a guy who makes me feel uncomfortable or do I let this one slide? I can't answer that one for you. I'm sorry you are going through this but just talk to him. If he truly loves you then he will feel terrible for making you feel uncomfortable. Good Luck and Happy 2007!

If it bothers you ask him to take it down, I understand what he is saying, every woman has a scent....remember the movie? And it doesn't necessarily mean "that" scent. Every woman has a taste to. Maybe I'll write that movie.
As a side note...all you young bloggers out there, remember, the net is not as anonymous as you think. Hold back a bit on letting the whole world know your private intimate stuff. Don't write/post anything you wouldn't want your parents to see, or your kids.

Well I think your parents just overreacted. His post didn't seem too bad to me. If I were a parent, that would not have been on my mind. I would have thought that was sweet. He puts a memory or an item...not personal parts. I don't think he is telling his friends he's getting sex, I think you should just ignore it because you know that you're not doing anything wrong.

Well since he is your "serious" b/f I'd be straight with him and tell him how it came across to your parents. I'd tell him that you found it flattering until your parents pointed out how it sounds to them. I'd ask him to take it down out of simple respect for your parents, even if you're not directly offended. Let him know your parent's comments made you uncomfortable and make you feel others may think the same way. Just be honest.

So you're 20 years old, live out of state, and your parents are still trying to run your life????
This is your life and you live it the way YOU want to.
We all have a scent and apparently your b/f is very attracted to yours. He may not necessarily be talking about the odor between your legs as he is your essence.
I would take it as a compliment.

I think you maybe over re-acting. There could be a lot worse things said a bout you on the Internet. Tell your parents your not having sex with him, and that you will when you're ready. Married or not!
Good luck!!

I think that is fine that he says that...it says nothing about sex on there...he is talking about a scent...one that reminds him of you...everyone has one...I would be happy for that being posted and I think that your parents are interfering with your relationship and over exaggerating...you need to think of what your b/f's intent was and not what your parents are telling you he meant by it...

I think what he said was sweet, and now would be a good time to tell your parents to realize that you are growing up and becoming your own person. You have to do it sometime, sooner will mean less therapy bills later, when you realize you can't live up to their standards.

Your parents need to cut the cord. You're a big girl now, with big girl issues. Guess what, everyone is having sex, not just you.
