Does it say anywhere in the bible that it is WRONG to do animal sacrifices now? And read the damn question again before answering, I'm not asking if it is OK not to, I don't care about all that Jesus... lamb.. blah-blah... perfect sacrifice ... [insert some other made up nonsense here]... blah-blah.
Example for stupid: My wife said that I don't have to buy her flowers anymore. Because we are married and stuff now. But she didn't say that it is WRONG to do so. So I keep buying her flowers because I know that she likes it.
So, why don't Christians do animal sacrifices? Lets say it is OK not to, but we know from OT that God likes it (yes it says there that he likes the aroma of flash burning on the altar, it is not just about sin and stuff), so why not do it once in a while???

Starting in Deuteronomy ch 12 thru ch 16 and again in ch 31, the phrase "in the place that the Lord shall choose" is often used. This is understood to mean the establishment of the Temple in Jerusalem and that, once the Temple is built, that will be the only place where the sacrificial service will be permitted. No Temple, no sacrifices.

Hi. No offense taken. Mosaic law includes a lot more than just sacrifices. And Mosaic law only allows sacrifices under certain conditions, one of which is that they are done in "The" Temple in Jerusalem. When there is no Temple in Jerusalem, animal sacrifices mentioned in the Bible are prohibited. So, it does not come up as an issue. As it says in the Bible when they dedicated the First Temple, when there is no Temple, prayer will take the place of sacrifices. Peace.

It's pretty mean. For the animal, especially. It probably hurts. It's messy. It's primitive, and as we see in the news, a large part of our world is still pretty primitive. Even typing the words "animal sacrifice" on a computer, and broadcasting it over the Internet is pretty bizarre. Didn't they just sacrifice some animals in the Middle East somewhere yesterday for a fun festival or celebration?

First of all it's gross in today's world. Second of all, we are not living in the OT times. Third of all, to sacrifice back then they used animals because that was their source of food, income. Now, we have cash and we use that instead.

Maybe we Christians should invite you over for a sacrifice. No, the animal has to be without blemish. Sorry.

Jesus is the sacrificial lamb. We don't need to sacrifice any animals. No animal can compare to the blood atonement of Jesus.

interesting question. i think ima keep my eye on this one to see what kind of responses you get
and yet i bet you will still get answers stating, jesus was the sacrifice and thats all that is required. which you already talked about in your example. that happens to my questions all the time. they never really anwer it, they just use my example to suit them. *shrug*

Oh you have that wrong. Every time an animal is killed for food consumption it is sacrificial. When a Christian consumes an animal it is sacrificial. That's exactly why you have so many fat overweight Christians about ninety percent of them are overweight.
