Yes, a doller a meal at least. The to-go person has to package it up for you and make sure everything is there.

I do not tip for take out as I am not getting service, I am purchasing a product. Just like buying deli food at the grocery or snacks at the corner store. The cashier is not going above the call of duty. Of course if there was a unique situation, I would, but never have I encountered a cashier or counter-service person deserving of a tip.

In ten years of food service I never once heard of anyone getting tipped for putting carryout food in a bag and ringing it up. I see tip cups out there- how rude! Declasse to say the least.

I always make it a goal to tip 10 to 15 percent, whether I am ordering take out, or dining at a restaurant...

If you are getting take-out, you do not need to tip. Tipping applies to the person who renders the service, not the product/serivce itself.

It's not expected. You can tip if you feel you got exceptional service.
