I liked Pres Ford, he did a lot for our nation during his term aand after. He never found a fairway he liked in golf, clonking fans on the head and being kind enough to shake their hands or sign an autograph :-) No disrespect for him, but I have a large problem with all the fan fair given to his passing, when the headline below it reads "3,000th U.S. soldier dies in Iraq". The flags are not set at half mast for these 3,000 brave young men and women that have dies for their country (and if you add together 3 of their ages, take any 3, it is very doubtful they will come near Pres. Ford's age of 93). So his death was sad, but the loss of the military men and women is tragic as we never hear their names and the political leaders don;t go to the funerals or have photo opps there.

When Ford ran against Jimmy Carter in 1976, everyone was touting Carter as a "born-again" Christian. I leaned toward him for this reason, but prayed about it and felt distinctly the Spirit was telling me to vote for Ford. I did, he lost of course, and I recall the presidency of Carter being the dreariest 4 years in my adult recollection.

It was generally accepted that Ford was a pretty good guy, but he received a lot of heat when he pardoned Nixon. At funerals, people always say wonderful things about people. You could be the most horrible person and things could be said that would make you look like a saint. It is called spin or embellishment.

Ford was chosen by God to rule the US. he was a good Christian, with good Christian values in spite of adversity, treacherous cohorts and evil corrupt people around him. May he Rest In Peace

here's an idea:
you could read a history book about Gerald Ford, instead of basing your assumptions about him on his funeral.
I mean, does anyone ever say anything bad about the person who died at a funeral?

People usually respect the religion of the deceased by addressing that religion at his or her funeral services. It doesn't necessarily reflect how much the person was involved in their religion, though.

His was the first election that I was old enough to vote it. I voted for Ford. I did, because of Betty. She was a feisty liberal in her day.

Oh brother, you don't know if he really believed in Christ. It could have been an act and his family may have presented a false image.
