Why are you adamant about being impious?

Religious people think your soul is lost. You think religious people's minds are lost. Guess wwe'll have to wait and see who wins....

Well as a Muslims I built my believe on scientific facts and not presuppositions, and we do not suffer the conflict between religion and science but in fact Islam support science and scientists all the way.

All the best to you and I wish those interested in negotiating religions base there discussions on facts.

So exactly what facts do you as a non-religious person (I presume) operate on?

Both the history and the current state of science teach me one things above all others, everything we know can be changed in a moment.

I agree that people fervent in their religion often become completely blind to the reality of current life that has passed their beliefs by in the stream of progress. However, we must first look to ourselves for blindness (and it does exist) before we begin to try and 'help' others.

Isn't everybody?
I mean, think about it...does anyone really know all the answers?
Of course, with science, we can deal with things we can see, taste, smell, measure...and that is fine. Science is a great tool...but as a religion, it sort of stinks.
There is no conflict between God and science, actually. The real conflict is between arrogant theologians who think they know it all, and big headed scientists who are sure they do.
I'm betting God is amused at both groups...
God has no problems with science at all.
After all, He invented it!

It makes me wonder what your definition of "fact" is. I have actually thought a lot about this issue, and have come to the conclusion that all scientific evidence is also subjective, so religious faith is no less objective than science. E-mail me if you'd like the complete argument about how this works.

All people use pressuppositions in interpreting the world. There are no brute facts but only facts as they have meaning to us. We bring to bear upon these "facts" a conception of the whole and the whole a conception of these facts.

Youre right to a point, we dont have absolute proof that God is real, but thats what makes it great for Him, that we believe. Thats why it is called faith. And also most science cannot be double checked neither can religion.

cuz they think science is full of presuppositions and is out to get religion.... and they have the facts, not the scientists.

Those of us of The True Christian Faith base our Faith on The Truth of God. We have The Truth personaly from God, not from a book. Our Faith is based on what God has given each of us personaly. no presuppositions involved.
