By asking your parents but offering to work for it. Explain that there is something that you need to get. Explain why you want it and come up with a plan on how to achieve your goal with them. Try doing chores that are normally not assigned to you and bargain for some extra money for it.

My 9 year old son does extra chores for cash. You can also do things for your neighbors. Rake their leaves or shovel the sidewalk, walk their dog or wash their car. But the best way to get extra money is your Mom and Dad. They love it when you offer to help, without being asked. Make their bed everyday, empty the dishwasher, carry in the groceries for Mom. There are tons of ways you can show you're willing to go the extra mile. By doing that, they are more than likely going to give you extra at the end of the week. Plus, let them know why and how much you are wanting to save. If I know my son wants something important I will sometimes match what he has saved, so he only has to save half of what the item will cost.

Talk to your parents about doing some extra work around the house and getting some cash for it. Good luck, and it's great that you don't just want to ask for it.

rake leaves, sell candy door to door. something like that. I've sold books door to door, I made $28!!! I'm 14 and I babysit for $5+ an hour. As you get older and more responsible you could do that. It's really cool and I've saved up over $200.00
