OK, this may sound a little crazy, but something in my house seems to be making me very sick. It is an old house, so it could really be anything from mold to asbestos to the water. However, my friends and family seem to think my house is haunted because it is always cold and creepy. I only spend a few hours a day home during the week, so when I am there the entire day on the weekends, I become physically ill. From the time I wake up, I can barely eat because everything comes back up or out the other end. I get dizzy and can't stay awake, and I have problems breathing. But as soon as I leave the house, I start to feel better immediately. I am not pregnant, I have no major health issues that I know of, and I know it isn't carbon monoxide poisoning because I have detectors for that, so I don't know what is going on. Has anyone ever experienced something like this?

You may want to look into the radon levels, since it's an older house, especially if you have a basement. I'd open up the windows and do a thorough cleaning, just to make sure you're not missing anything, like a leaky pipe causing mold, or an infestation, or anything like that. You may want to contact your local health inspector to come and check out the property. Does anyone else get sick after being in your home for a while? Good luck!

This still sounds like carbon monoxide poisioning - are you certain your detectors are working? A blood gas test will show for certain if this is the cause. Otherwise, you are being poisioned by something, and the only way to find the cause are to have an environmental health person check you house for pollutants.

Me and a bunch of other people at my office had a similar problem, and engineers narrowed the cause to either a reaction between the carpet and the adhesive used with it, or a chemical in the blown-in insulation. After two years of trail and error to fix the problem, nothing imporoved and we moved out of the office.

check radon levels, carbon monoxide levels,if its an old house and has lead paint that is chipped it could be dust from that...i would call in a professional cleaning service and by that i do not mean a maid service but a company the specializes in environmental cleaning, have your duct work and vents blown out and cleaned
