Yes, there is a ring of lymphoid tissue completely around the throat and into nasopharynx of which so called tonsils are a small part. You are as susceptible to a strep infection as anyone else.

Strep throat has nothing to do with tonsils. So yes, you can get it whether you have tonsils or not.

If you think you have it, then you need to go to the doctor for a throat culture.

yes ,with tonsils it seems to be a little worse due to swelling of the tonsils but you can still get strep with or without tonsils.
