I say the Bible because it shows signs of what is to come ... prophesies have been told in the bible about the future and some of it has already come true ....now y the Christian God deals with faith ... a true Christian has the Holy Spirit which discerns them from what is right and wrong .... Strong faith in the Word of God has helped them see that what they read is nothing but truth ... now u can go through every single religion and find flaws ... what religion is there where u can talk and walk with God ?? or ask God for help?? or just have a conversation with God because he is a friend ?? no other religion because for example the hindu Gods and muslim god are just strictly worship that God and follow his or her order or else ..... but Jesus Christ was a living sacrifice .... we have that privillage to talk and walk with him and share his word and have the gift of everlasting life when this world is over ... now how do u know that is true is all on your faith ... but remember if you hear the truth about Jesus Christ and decide not follow it then Judgment is waiting for you ....when you come to the throne of God .... Jesus will turn his head and say he does not know you...judgment is seeking those that hear the truth and decides not to follow .... read the bible see whats in store for God's children ....hope you make the right decision and Repent and be saved ... God's time is at hand ...its better to be safe then sorry ....

Actually, I am a Christian, and I think that most religions are the same. Except for religions who idolize an actual human or statue or thing. As said above, the Bible does have merit today. Unfortunately, I have not read any of the other religions texts to see what they are about, which I would like to. I feel you can never understand even something you believe in wholeheartedly until you start to understand other things completely. Ok, that doesn't make as much sense as it did in my head...but it still kinda fits!

There is only one True God who is the creator of all that mankind knows and can possably come to know.
All who come to God in The Way He prescribes will receive His free gift of Salvation. Those become of The Body of The Church of wich Jesus The Christ is The Head. Those are the ones of The True Christian Faith. Only those of The Church will enter Heaven.
The teaching of those cults books you mention, and many other "religions", do not lead people to TheWay That God prescribes. They deceive people and keep them from God
To answer what else you added......... Those of The True Christian Faith know The Truth of God from God, not from a book. I did not even own a bible on the day of my Salvation. No other man, priest, pastor, maninvented doctriin or dogma involved... Just God and me, one-on-one and personal. When you Know The Truth you can recognize The deceptions.

I don't discount any texts. They all tap into the universal morality that was created by God.
Why the Christian God? Why not?
YHWH is the one true God, the living God. He is the only one to sacrifice his only son for the salvation of mankind.
Who else offers salvation by grace alone and not by works?

The word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword.—Heb. 4:12.
God’s word, or message, recorded in the Bible is like a powerful two-edged sword that can cut down religious falsehood and help righthearted people find spiritual freedom. (John 8:32) This spiritual sword can also defend us when we are assaulted by temptations or apostate attempts to destroy our faith. (2 Cor. 10:4, 5) When tempted by Satan in the wilderness, Jesus effectively used the sword of the spirit to fend off false reasoning. (Matt. 4:1-11) Jesus also used the sword of the spirit to help others escape from Satan’s control. “What I teach is not mine,” said Jesus, “but belongs to him that sent me.” (John 7:16) To imitate Jesus, we need to use the Bible and ‘do our utmost to present ourselves approved to God, as workmen with nothing to be ashamed of, handling the word of the truth aright.’—2 Tim. 2:15.
The bible written by 40 different people of different times have a universal theme, God's kingdom, the many prophecies that were fulfilled gives it credibility that it is in fact a book inspired by God.

The answer to this is very simple. There is no other God other than Jesus that proved he was God by raising himself from the dead. He is alive. He is the resurrection and the life. All of these other prophets and so called "Gods" are dead in their graves. Jesus is at the right hand of God in heaven; not still in the grave.

I don't think that the christian god, or Allah Buddha.... whoever is the RIGHT god.
I treat all religious texts as self help. Each book is a series of parables. "Look what jimmy did. Do you want to be Jimmy?"
Each religion has more than one redeeming character trait. Each religion has a different path to salvation. Unfortunately we all think that our path is the only path.

The "Christian" God is the only God that I know of who has condescended to humanity in order to make Himself known and to establish a relationship with them. All other religious organizations seek to build up a ritualistic ladder in order to reach God. Christianity is the only religious faith wherein God was the one who reached down to reach humanity.
