A boy i like asked me to the dance at school, but i said no he did it really romantically this is how: So in class he was using my pen to draw on my arm(hes an awesome artist) but we had a fire drill so he covered it with my sleeve and told me not to look at it. we went out to the fire drill and he continued to draw (i still couldnt look at it) then we went back to class, at the end of the day he finished the drawing (i still hadnt seen it), he gave me the pen and told me to call him and tell him what i thought of it. i looked at it and it was a picture him asking me to the dance and it was really good. i was already going with this guy that i didnt really like so i had to call and turn him down. i really like him and i feel really bad. now we talk a lot and my friends say he likes me but should have turned the other guy i was going with down and gone with the one i liked? I DON'T KNOW! please help me

Wow, I'm very impressed. I think you did the honorable thing. It would be rude not to mention hurtful to cancel on the guy who asked you out first just because you got a "better offer." I would suggest keeping the date with the guy you originally said yes to but be honest with the other boy. Don't just tell him no, but tell him you would love to go with him but you already committed to going with someone else. Let him know you're interested in future dances or in other opportunities to go out on a date.
This is the most mature way to handle the situation. You say you don't really like the other guy but you liked him enough to say yes in the first place, so you'll still probably have a good time at this dance. When the next dance comes around, or any other dating opportunity, why not ask the "awesome artist" guy first, before you get any other offers. :)

You had already made a promise to go with the other guy, so it would have been rude to dump him at the last minute. You did the polite thing. DEFINITELY offer to give Mr. Artist a few dances (but don't ditch your date).
What you should have told Mr. Artist is, "Thank you for asking me, your drawing was great. I would really love to go to the dance with you, but I already agreed to go with someone else. But maybe we could go to (the next dance, dinner, a movie, etc) together?" That way you do the polite thing by everybody, and still date to date the sweet guy who likes you.
You can still rescue the situation by letting him know you'd like to go out with him. If you wanted to be cute about it, tell him (or draw HIM a picture, it doesn't have to be artistic) that you wish he'd draw another picture on your arm... maybe of him asking you to the movies. ;)

i would say you should never say no when someone asks you to dance, but it's different when you are already going with someone. if you are in middle school, it's not that big a deal. maybe just talk with your date beforehand about going together and dancing a good deal of the time, but would it be OK for you to dance with other people too? you shouldn't have turned down the guy you were going with to the actual dance, but maybe have made plans with the guy you liked for another time!

Well since you already had a guy, you were in the right. Just make sure that the guy you turned down understands why. Just explain that you already said you would go with this another guy and it wouldnt' be right to cancell with him. He is will understand. Make a little agreement like next dance is yours.

well you did the right thing, what you did shows good character, how would it look if you said yes to a guy then said wait some one better came along. Tell the guy you like hey i am really sorry i cant go with you i really would love to and like you but i had planes with some one else who is just a friend and it just wouldn't be right to say yes to him then change my mind, but i will save you a couple dances. Then after he gives you a response tell him you would like to make it up to him by taking him to dinner, nothing to nice but nothing like burger king, make it a date like event then let him take things from there.

You did the right thing by keeping your date with the first guy, if you are not committeed to guy one, give guy two who you like a chance. Just let him know not to wait so late if another dance comes up because he has the first chance of getting a yes answer.

It would be pretty rude to blow off the guy you already gave your word to. But just because you have a date for the dance doesn't mean you can't have a few dances with him! If you tell him your situation, he'll probably feel bad, but he'll understand. Have fun at your dance!

Everybody makes a wrong decision once or more. You can't change your past, don't try!!!!
Just move on from where u r now, if you really like him, you can still find you second chance!!!!! It's not too late yet, but it will be if you just forget about it!!!
Next time, go with whom u like, not who asked u first!!!

He had the courage to ask you to dance so the least you could do is to dance with him. Explain to the person that you are going with that someone asked you to dance and that it would only be for one song.

call him again as soon as possible and tell him that you are sorry for that. He will understand and he will ask you again. he seems like a really nice guy, so, you should rather go with him than the other one u dont really like. HE LIKES YOU! be happy, do it and he will understand and will ask you again. ;-)
