i know exactly what you mean. it's that very same thought that has always kept me standing on the outside looking in.
i too often wonder why others don't realise that their beliefs are based on their geography !
i believe more realise this than you or i think. there are many reasons to continue with this farce, especially when those in power propagate it so. it is often beneficial to the individuals survival and success to "play the game".
for some though, respect for truth is more important, but i don't mean "the truth" whatever that is. truth itself starts by being honest with yourself, and that's why folk like you ask questions like that.
nice one!

Just to add to what Dude says,
The Buddha specifically warned against changing you religion. The Buddhist view is, if you're a christian, be as good a Christian as you can. Same for other faiths. Only if you really can't get on with your own religion should you consider converting to Buddhism.
Buddhism does not deny other faiths, it only seeks the escape from suffering for all people.

Christianity is based on the person of Jesus Christ, His life, words, death and resurrection. Most other belief systems are based on a philosophy or set of rules. Christianity says you can't earn or work your way to Heaven, the work was done by Christ, all other faiths say you have to do this or that, to earn favor with God. Christianity is based on the grace or unmerited favor of God, no other belief system can say that. Christianity and Judaism are based on actual historical events, that have been proven. Jesus Christ was God, in human flesh and proved it, no other faith can claim that truly. Muhammad's grave, full, Buddha's grave, full, Jesus Christ's grave, empty.

Because for some to believe whole heartedly in what they preach, they have to believe that everything else is wrong. Some cannot live with the faith that my truth does not equal your truth, but we can both be right. So if you believe that your way is the only way, congratulations on finding your path. And if you believe all can have their own way and live in peace, congratulations on finding your path.

that is where your judgment and faith comes in ....you will know which is the truth because your soul will tell you ... if you hear the truth and you decide not to follow it then judgment is gonna be upon you ... you can sit there say thats just my faith and what i believe but there is only One God and that is Jesus Christ ...and through him and Him only is the key to eternal life .... believe what you want but once you have heard the truth and decide other then that .. it is all on you ...

This applies to just about everything, people always think their children are the best, possessions, etc. There are religions that are more pure than others and give their followers more information to reach the desired goal.

Because only the people who have the truth, have the truth.
Isn't that obvious ?
Why do you stare at man ?
Since God has the truth, you need to seek Him.

because everybody does have the truth, their version atleast. In every story there is atleast 3 sides. Mine, yours, and the truth.
Religions are all essentially the same, the only thing that is really ever argues is semantics.
Its like the color teal.... If I look at something and say its teal green, and you look at it and say no its teal blue. Does that change the color? No, but it would give us something to argue about, even though it is still just teal.

I do not know all religions that are out there, I doubt they could all hold Truth. It appears to me that there is too much evil in this world for that to be true.
