used to feel that way but then learned that my family can't bring me down unless I allow them to. here are some lyrics to a song I used to listen to for that. It is by Wilson phillips titled Hold on for one more day:
I know this pain
Why do lock yourself up in these chains?
No one can change your life except for you
Don't ever let anyone step all over you
Just open your heart and your mind
Is it really fair to feel this way inside?
Some day somebody's gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Don't you know?
Don't you know things can change
Things'll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on for one more day
Things'll go your way
Hold on for one more day
You could sustain
Or are you comfortable with the pain?
You've got no one to blame for your unhappiness
You got yourself into your own mess
Lettin' your worries pass you by
Don't you think it's worth your time
To change your mind?
I know that there is pain
But you hold on for one more day and
Break free the chains
Yeah I know that there is pain
But you hold on for one more day and you
Break free, break from the chains
Some day somebody's gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Don't you know?
Don't you know things can change
Things'll go your way
If you hold on for one more day yeah
If you hold on
Don't you know things can change
Things'll go your way
If you hold on for one more day,
If you hold on
Can you hold on
Hold on baby
Won't you tell me now
Hold on for one more day 'Cause
It's gonna go your way
Don't you know things can change
Things'll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can't you change it this time
Make up your mind
Hold on
Hold on
Baby hold on

Oh yeah. Definitely. I use to feel that way all the time. I wanted to go to art college and my mom said that artists don't make good money. And she suggested that I become a teacher....which I NEVER EVER wanted to be. She just cared about HER reputation. She'd always say, "Well that will make us look bad!" Ugh. We got into this HUGE fight and in the end, I FINALLY got to go to art school. Even though I had to pay for it all myself. Now I have a job and I made about $20,000 this year- and it's my first job out of college. :)

Yes when I was a Teenager. Why, because most of the time I wanted to have my way. Always know that the people that loves you always want the best for you. I couldn't imagine a parent or people that truly love me wanting me to lose. Believe me these people only want the best for you. God Bless You.

Oh definitely. I was told not to move because I'd never make it anywhere else, I wouldn't be able to get a job, just stay where you are.
Well, I've been happy for 2.5 years since the move and now they don't talk to me! But we're happy, that's all that's important!

Oh yes, this happens. Some families bond over mutual failure. Anyone who tries to break out of that mold--get clean of drugs, dysfunctional relationships, go to college, gets ostracized, because they are threatening to all the people who don't try to get their lives together.
