OK this is one of those questions you either going to have no idea what I am talking about or you get it right off the bat!
I used to live in North Carolina and we would get burgers with coleslaw and chili on them instead of traditional lettuce and tomato.
I know this sounds strange but I need a recipe or something. It has a unique taste and I cant get it down. When I try to make them at home they dont taste right.
So I am wondering if there is something special thats done to the meat, coleslaw or chili to give it this unique flavor. So please dont tell me to just make a burger and put coleslaw and chili on it...cause thats not it.
We would find them fixed like this is Mom and Pop type places.
I live back in New Mexico now and no one around here does this.
Anyway any help would be appreciated!!

Maybe it's a regional recipe:

North Carolina Coleslaw

* 1 pound finely shredded cabbage
* 1 medium onion, finely chopped
* 1 medium green pepper, finely chopped
* 1/2 cup vinegar
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 1/2 cup salad oil
* salt
* pepper
* celery seed

Maybe its the kind of coleslaw and the type of chili they are using. Maybe you could try contacting the restauraunt and asking. I live in Ohio and we do coleslaw and chili on burgers. They call it a panini burger though. We use Cole's coleslaw and Whitey's brand chili. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I know what you mean. North Carolina makes a Cole slaw that is vinegar base instead of mayo base. I think that is the part that is missing from your attempts. Try doing a Internet search on North Carolina Cole Slaw.
