I have been wedding dress shopping for months now and I cannot find a dress that I feel like is "the ONE." Everything I try on I end up liking but not really loving. I've taken mom, sister, best friends, and even dad with me to help and they have found ones that they really love on me, but I think they are all sooo pretty! I was just wondering if anyone else felt this way when they were gown shopping?? Did you guys all have the feeling that the dress was "the ONE" or did you end up settling for one you just liked and not loved??

What ever you do, stay away from david's bridal. To put it in simple words, they suck. They have horrible service and selection. Plus, they have had a lot of people complain about alterations. They forward all of your info to tux shops too. They will call you at like 7-8 PM. Atleast that is my horror story.

www.Maggiesottero.com, they are beautiful dresses.

Look on www.theknot.com. They have an advanced search engine that is wonderful. You will find it, I think you and I are alike. I am putting a lot of pressure on the search of the gown. But can anyone blame us? It is OUR special day. Highly recommend theknot.com.

Congrats and Good Luck!!

There are a lot of options on wedding dresses these days, thanks to the internet, mostly.

Do a lot of online browsing. The dress you love might jump out at you there. If you can't buy the dress online, print out copies and see if you can find a store that can get it in, or one very similar to it.

Also, take a look at the features of the dresses you have mostly liked. The neckline, hemline, sleeves (or not), type of skirt, etc. Are there any types that ALL your "maybe" dresses have in common? Pick one type for each feature, and ask your favorite bridal store if they have a dress that has all those features.

One more option: If you have the money, and the idea of the perfect dress in mind, perhaps someone can make it for you. This may take more time than buying a dress, so keep that in mind. But you always have the option of creating your perfect dress instead of searching for it!

I took the first one I tried on. I knew what I was looking for before I went into the store so I wouldnt have that problem. I was also an a budget and time limit so I couldnt be that selective if I tried. my suggestion is go by yourself. make a day out of it and just decide what you like without others influencing you. or pick out something you really want your dress to have and only try on ones that fit that personal discription so you can nerrow it down a bit. if you get stuck between 2 or 3 your really like then get a friend to come and help you choose.

You are putting too much pressure on this.

Go on line and look at dresses. Make a note about what they all have in common. Go to some shops with ONE trusted friend and try on gowns. You WILL find that one that makes your feel special. Just be patient.

YOu shouldn't settle on one just because of other people saying they love it. Its your day and you should get to chose hte dress of your dreams. I had the same problem as you, and I found an online bridal store and bought it over the internet and I couldn't have been happier with my purchase. I found the dress of my dreams without even trying it on first.

Never settle for less! Especially on your wedding! Have you tried looking at bridesmaids or prom dresses? They come in white, also. davidsbridal.com has GORGEOUS bridesmaid dresses that are available in white. They will be hundreds of dollars cheaper, as well! The one I want to get is about $200!

i am only 16 and I'm not close to getting married but with older sisters and a brother i haven't gone wedding dress shopping 5 times and the best way for them to decide is to think of how there husband will react when they see you. if you think he will cry, smile with tons of pride,or will says he loves you so much then its the perfect dress for you. if you know he will like it and you like it then with the right hair do,jewelery, shoes, and flowers you will love it more than you will expect. That is what my sisters and sister-in-law said to me.

Yes, I can totally empathize with you! I'm getting married in July and still can't find "THE" dress. My problem is there are just too many choices out there. All I can tell you is what I have been told: When you have it on your body, you will just "Know." I hope this is true! Good luck to both of us.

It took me two days and i finally found "the dress" on the second day. On the first day, It was a choice between the one I am wearing now and another dress. I went back to my hotel and slept on it. The next day i tried them on again and that was when i knew.
