You PRIDE nuthuggers are all retarded, It would be awesome to see Pride vs UFC just to shut you guys up. If there was to be collaberation I think the match-ups might look something like this.
LW- BJ Penn vs Takanori Gomi (BJ already beat him via RNC)
WW- George St. Pierre vs ??? (not 1 PrideFC fighter in the top 10)
MW- Anderson Silva vs Paulo Filho (would be a great fight cant really give to either guy)
LHW- Chuck Liddell vs Wanderlei Silva (Again another tough match-up to close to call)
HW- Either Tim Sylvia or the UFC's latest addition Mirko Cro Cop vs Fedor Emelianenko
Everyone wants to see Fedor/CroCop II so another match to close to call and Big Tim vs Fedor would also be to close to call, now of course all you MMA keyboard warriors are gonna say that fedor would take Tim to school but you are wrong, I hate Tim as a fighter but he has a great size/reach advantage and dispite him having boring fights he is in fact very good at "not losing" He also has the camp and potential to be the best HW of all time, I think that fight would be just as close as CroCop/Fedor, but I cant wait to see CroCop/Timmy because we all know its going to happen in 2007.
So anyways lets break this down. Pride vs UFC, 5 fights and you only need 3 to win, I see LW and WW division going to the UFC and Id put my money on Chuck Liddell and Anderson Silva so I would have to say that UFC would come out on top. Plus eventually the UFC is just gonna buy Pride anyways so we'll find out then

Check out the following sites and you might find some more details. I will give you a brief overview
http://cagewarriors.com/

About 6 months ago there were rumors that the Pride FC orginization had links to and were supported to the Japenese Yakuza. When the TV company that film and air Pride, they wanted to be released from their contract.
This was just before Wand stepped into the Octogen with Chuck after his 3rd fight with Randy and said that they would "Get it on!!"
Alot of people said that this was just a publicity stunt to attract more people to watch a stumbling promotion. Pride have now hosted events in the States and have looked at their marketing strategy. Maybe they will survive maybe they won't.
How many Pride fighters are signing for other Promotions like UFC and the new Promotion Bodog??
Oh yeah Fedor Elimenko is one of the Guys that has signed to BODOG, his first fight with them will be against Submission master and specialist Jeff Monson

I've been watching that for a long time. I like it way better than ufc.
Well I heard it will close down soon, but what I think will happen is it'll still be around, however it will not be the same any more :-( This really really suck big time since Pride make MMA look good while UFC make MMA look so trashy.

It's been around for almost 10 years now, so I've definetly heard of it. I don't think it will close down soon. Some people are saying that since UFC just signed two of their fighters (Rampage Jackson and Cro Cop). Pride has a lot of attention in Japan. It's not going anywhere.

Pride lost their television contract and had been linked to organized crime in Japan. There were rumors that it had been offered a few buyouts, but refused. The only fact is that it lost it's Television sponsor in Japan, which forced it to make the move to the US. There is another Pride event in Vegas in February I believe, and Pride's fate could be determined by the turnout. I am hoping that it will go bankrupt, get bought out by Zuffa. Then UFC and Pride fighters would all be in the same league and we would finally know who's the best in the world.

I know they've had financial problems because some of there producers may have had mafia ties, but I don't think they will go out of business, I just think UFC will ultimately overtake them becuase they will be able to offer more money since the USA market for MMA fans in much larger than Japan's.

I doubt that theres very few people here that HASN"T heard of PRIDE.
I hope that's not true that it's supposed to be shut down. that would suck
the only thing I've heard is that they're trying to expand their viewership more to the U.S. as well as trying to get some of their fight venues scheduled in the U.S. since they could make good money doing so.
