My family likes pepperoni pizza and so we have gotten it three times in the last month. If I eat even just one piece, or say, 3 slices of pepperoni, I have a nightmare. They are usually very vivid, very wierd, and very detailed. For example, last night's nightmare was that my husband was collecting huge quanitites of postage stamps in the garage and I finally figured out that he was using them to send to his many girlfriends in Pakistan and India (???). Also, in the dream, he was somehow meeting these girlfriends on his lunch break. Last week's nightmare was that I couldn't find my 1 yr old baby anywhere. I am NOT eating anymore pepperoni. This happen to anyone else?

No. And why doesn't your husband e-mail these people?

I do!!!! And the nightmares are especially bad if I haven t had it for a while. For whatever reason, regular cheese pizza does not affect me the same. I am just finishing up my masters in nutrition and my guess is that the whole combo of processed meat, cheese, tomato sauce, and wheat creates a very acidic environment in our stomachs....just like if you ve ever had a fever and had horrible dreams, your brain manifests negative thoughts in conjunction with the imbalance going on in your body. Not sure if that s accurate but that s my best guess! Consider pairing your pep with an antacid. I also sometimes take fiber supplements or probiotics before/after pizza to help with digestion. Last but not least, finish your pepperoni at least a few hours before bed! Late night eating has been correlated with nightmares, so why add insult to injury?!

I have never had a nightmare after eating pepperoni. Maybe the pepperoni is stimulating something in your body that is causing this.

No, I don't. Perhaps the spices in the pepperoni cause you heartburn or other digestive issues. This may cause you to not sleep well and thus cause anxiety in your sleep.
