If he's really shy, he might feel embarrassed and put on the spot if you asked him on a date. Instead, just hang out with him until he feels more comfortable with you. Invite him along when you go out with friends and low-key casual things like that. Find out what his interests are and ask him questions about them. With shy people, you have to break the ice and just get them talking before you make the next move.

being shy guy myself i think i may be able to help. I would suggest that you are very blunt and straight forward with him. If he is shy like me, he probably just does not expect to be so lucky to have a girl he likes, like him back. I would suggest that you tell him how you feel or jsut be really really flirty. so he feels comfortable and knows yu like him. If that does not work its probably not a good thing. good luck

in the past i had a shy b.f first u must to make him have self confident of himself, second accept him self his looking, third be comfortable with the people, make him feel that, forth be close to him more and see from where and why his shy come and u can solve it.. i am sure u can do it if u willing to change but first he accept that from u.

being somewhat shy myself i think the direct approach is the best, walk up to him and ask him when he is going to take you out for dinner
he'll probably start blushing but take you out for dinner
flirting is good but most shy people will probably just think you are being friendly and you don't want to become to good of a friend until you get him, (don't let it get to the point of either of you saying "i wouldn't want to lose you as a friend)
it seems ex lovers can be friends but it is hard for friends to become lovers

ask him what would he do if a girl - Not You- is attracted to him.
don't be so "direct" it will shock him. expect him to reply in "weird" ways. if he's smart & sure u wanna make first move u have to proceed slowly w/ him. also I think that early sex can apply & helps to save much time

Just talk to him and start friendly conversation...remember shy guy will rarely ask girl out for a date...if you want a date, you need to ask him out...
During you conversation, if he smiles or warm up to you, then he probably likes you...if he doesn't and appears annoyed, then don't ask him out

Ask him to go somewhere with you that is not like a date. Tell him you are afraid to ....walk....drive....whatever. Make it seem like you just want some company so that he doesnt freak out. I would say something like.... Hey, would you walk with me to Walmart? I am afraid of walking by myself. If he says yes, then you will have your wish and a guy that cares about your safety.
