I have owned cats for most of my life. I adore them...and hate the fuzzy, fluffy mess they leave. Yes, they do lick themselves relatively clean, but they can get matted and may need a little extra help to be clean enough for you to enjoy having them close to you and in your home. My suggestion is to try a cleaning solution especially designed for cats that you can purchase almost anywhere....Wal-Mart, Petsmart, etc. You put it on a lightly wet cloth and rub the cat with the cloth. They won't feel the dampness if you do it right. Don't let the cloth be too wet. Then, you comb the fur...and most cats LOVE that part. Just make sure it's a comb designed to clean and to remove the excess pet fur from a cat. Once that is done, the cat is clean and combed and will smell great as well. It also helps reduce fur balls for them and lessens the fur that ends up on your furniture. It's not traumatic for the cat and you will enjoy the bonding time with your pet as you clean it.

I don't know of any sites, but I always bathe both of my cats, and they love it. Another alternative though, is to get Waterless Shampoo, there is a brand called Premium 8 in 1 Dry Shampoo that you can use for cats and kittens, I use that also during the Winter months, and it works great. If you go to Petsmart, they have a brand of dry shampoo that comes in lots of great fragrances. Good Luck!
Ps. You're the one to call people stupid...you may wanna have a second look at your question..got more than a few typos there!

I know this one says dog doctor but it is the best one I found about CAT baths.
Probably most sites don't stress the importance of keeping shampoo out of your cat's eyes. If you are gentle enough and pat and encourage your kitty, during and especially after the bath, he or she might grow to actually like it a bit. I always tell htem how beautiful they look.

Your cat will never appreciate "taking a dip" and might lose trust with you for it. The same goes for using running water (hose, faucet, etc.) I can not give you any websites to help, but I can give you advice. My advice is to pet it with a wet cloth if it is dirty or sticky.
(One of our cats got its tail stuck in a fly catcher, she was very furry and we had to end up cutting off the ends of the cats fur. It
grew back ok but for a while had a bald spot ^_^; )
If you are worried about the day to day grooming of the cat it can take very good care of itself, cats are exceptionally clean animals. If, however, you wish to groom it yourself I would suggest again using a wet cloth.

This is my suggestion, because you will never get a cat in water and have them enjoy it one bit. A less cruel way of cleaning your cat is to acctually use a vaccum cleaner. Just attach one of the small hose attachments and have someone hold the cat down for a minute while you suck all that loose fur off of them. They still will squirm and meow at you, but I think its more practical then putting your cat in a bath. Don't believe me? Go hold your cat above a toilet and see what happens! Happy Cat owning!
