If he's always itching his ears he probably has and ear infection. I have a cocker spaniel that used to get them all the time and it smelled so bad! It's very common in dog's with floppy ears especially long haired dogs. Check his ears if that seam's to be where the smell is coming from then I'd bet it's ear infections. Get some Monistat cream that you get for yeast infections and rub it just a little bit in the ear. Then make an appointment with your vet they will probably want to get him on some antibiotic's. Good luck I hope he get's feeling better soon.

You should get his ears checked for infection. Oftentimes in dogs whose ears hang down that is the source for the bad odor. You mentioned he keeps itching at his ears. Take him to the vet and they should be able to help you with the issue and give you something to keep them clean and show you how to do it. I am sure it is bothering him as much as it is you.

Also, Iams is full of nothing but fillers, so you may want to consider a better dog food, though it really does not relate to this issue.

You mean he has gas, or the smell comes from his body? If he is itching his ears and he smells like that he may have ear mites or some sort of ear infection. Take him to the vet. As far as the food being the culprit, I doubt it. My dog is 12 and has eaten Iams all his life and is very healthy. Iams is one of the best brands out there.

He could be having an alergic reaction to the food or anything he has come in contact with. You might give him a really good bath. Some people use "skin so soft" you order it from Avon and any kind of pet shampoo. If that does not work try some skin care products at the store. Still not working? Take him to the vet.

Bring him to the vets because Goldens are very prone to ear infections. An ear infection stinks, especially if it is severe. Keep in mind that ear infections can take awhile to straighten out and require diligence afterwards - by which i mean cleaning ears once weekly.

But again, bring him to the vets to have an ear cytology done and general exam. It could also be allergies, but I would start there.

There are brands of cat litter that eliminate the odor. Mention that to him. Also, you can get one of those litter boxes that has a top on it, so the smell won't be released as much as a regular litter box. Tell him that you will take care of the kitten and you will change the litter often so it doesn't make the house smell bad! I hope everything works for you! :)

Here's a thought - my dog used to smell, but he's a shitzu, the vet told me it was his ears, you said he scratches his ears a lot. Some dogs have covered ears, easily leaving bacteria in the earlobe and making them smell. Try talking to your vet and see if they can give you some ear medicine for your dog, it helps, trust me. I give the medicine to my dog after he gets a shower. Hope that helps.

How often do you bath or brush him? If he scratches his ears alot, they could be infected, which will make him stink bad. First, take him to the groomers for a good low trim and an ear cleaning to see if it helps. If not, take him to the vet to see if his ears are infected, or if he has a skin condition.

He might have an ear infection. They can smell REALLY bad. Take your dog to the vet, and they'll give you medicine to treat it, and will be able to give you tips on how to clean your dog's ears to prevent them.
