Breakfast: nothing, didn't have time

Came home went on the treadmill for 40 minutes, burned 270 calories
ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with banana and fat free milk
2 slices of whole wheat bread- 140
fat free milk-90 calories
jelly and peanut butter - 180 [ I don't put much & this is overestimating it]
banana- 110 calories

Snack- nonfat yogurt- 90 calories

Dinner- 400 calories? around that

Snack: cucumber or a glass of milk or something

I'll probably just make 1200 calories, is this a good diet plan? I plan on following this for a month at least. I'll do some exercise later, by the way.

thanks guys. I will vary my diet a bit, esp on Fridays and weekends but I probably will have the peanut butter and jelly sandwich everyday. Only because I've been a vegetarian my whole life and I need some protein =]

NEVER skip breakfast. It has been proven that for the avg person, skipping breakfast for 1 full year will cause a 10 lb. wght GAIN. The reason? You can't fool your body. Skipping meals sends a signal to the body to store fat because food is scarce. Eat the largest brkfst u can stand, a mid-size lunch and a small dinner. If u must, snack on fruit or high fiber bars in between.
As for total daily calorie intake, that depends on your age, fitness level and how much exercise, if any, you do and whether your goal is to lose weight or keep same with better muscle definition.

It sounds okay. The most important thing you need to do is to eat breakfast. That is what gets your metabolism going and helps you to feel better. Also, try to eat more of a variety of foods, not just peanut butter & jelly and bananas. I don't know what you had for dinner, but make sure you include vegetables, lean meats, and a variety of fruit in your diet. Good luck and Good job for eating healthy.

That's going to be VERY difficult to follow for one month; eating the same exact thing everyday. THe peanut butter is ok (in moderation) b/c it has a lot of protein in it....but also has a good bit of fat grams. Try switching up your meals---and eat breakfast.
Try to eat a larger lunch and a light dinner.

first you should know your recommended daily calorie intake.
go to this website: http://www.hpathy.com/healthtools/calories-need.asp and find out your required number of calories.
Design your diet following the number of calories you daily need.Make sure you have foods from all four food groups: breads and cereals(6-11 servings), meat and alternatives(2-3 servings), fruits and vegies(3-5servings), fats and sugars(sparingly).
The diet plan you followed doesn't have enough calories from breads and cereals group. So include more of that. Also vary your food that will ensure you get all the nutrients. eat different fruits and vegies. and eat different types of food every day .
