I really think that that would be a good idea u should bring that to the government because i NO that pittbulls and other mastiff dogs that people think are SO vicious turn out to be very very gentle.LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING.dogs like that are only stubborn and rude if the owner treats the dog in a bad way.um hello its call revenge and people think that only the big dogs do this but the don't jack Russel's always do this i No jack Russel that bites 24/7 and the owner kicks it and it just gets more madd and i once here that a jack Russel is more vicious then a mastiff dog such as. so i highly agree that Pitt bull and other mast if dog owners should get IQ test before breeding or buying another mastiff type of dogg breed

A-men!

The few thug owners with the dogs they have ruined get all the media focus, while the vast majority of Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, etc., live out their peaceful lives as loving pets...some even are therapy dogs (that visit the sick & elderly to brighten their day) & search & rescue (that search for lost people, and victims in building collapses *I saw there were SEVERAL Rotties at the World Trade Center site*). Yet the media wants to focus on the negative, making the public have a bad opinion of these breeds.

I wish good news would sell more than bad.

I agree about the owners..as a former letter carrier I know that many breeds..[esp. the little ankle biters] can be either mean or very loving and gentle..give me a pit bull anytime over a poodle... the bigger dogs are honest..they tell you right off if they want to bite...smaller 'more friendly' dogs will wag their tails then bite when you turn your back on them...it is definitely the owner training that makes the difference.

An IQ test doesn't weed out evil or bad ppl. Most seriel killers are above average intelligence. The person saying that specifically wanting to own a pitbull,is an indication of IQ is probally far below average intelligence.Usually only stupid ppl are arrogant enough to still speak when they have no idea of what they are talking about. But what do i know,i own a pitbull? And for that matter what did Albert Einstien know...he too owned a pitbull?John Swinford,President Roosevelt,Helen Keller all owned pitbulls. The list of highly intelligent ppl that owned pitbulls goes on and on....need I go on?You, my friend, should buy a pitbull,to know one is to love one,and to hate one is ignorant. But what would you know about ignorance? Not only trashy ppl own these dogs.

If we are going to ask people to take an IQ before they have a dog we should have them have one before they decide to have babies We make people take a test and get a license to drive a car, hunt, fish etc but any idiot can have a kid! Problem parents often have problem kids. Apples do not fall far from the tree!

not at all, you could be a genius and still not have a shred of common sense, and being smart doesn't mean you'll be a good or responsible dog owner.

However, I agree with your premise of preventing idiots from owning dogs. The difference between an idiot with a rottie and an idiot with yorkie is the amount of damage done by the dog.

100% agree.
I also think they Pit Bulls should be bred to be calmer and non - dog aggressive. I know they are used for fighting but this is illegal. Why can't breeders who are non fighters start to breed a more calmer pit bull?
I also think that no-one should own a pit bull mix or pit bull without a license and they should be over 25 years of age.

No joke!! Prospective owners would have to sign a waiver stating that they will properly train and care for their dog, otherwise they will get put to sleep, not the dog, if the dog attacks someone.

I so totally agree. Rather then punish the dog, require the owners to train, take classes, prove that they are worthy of owning a dog.

BSL will get us no where. All it does is make those people who insist on getting a tough dog, get another breed and ruin that one too.

AMEN!!!!
