Yes he was diagnosed with Alopecia.... they say its common in Pomeranians (which is what my little doggie is) but i have been trying the melatonin, and its not doing anything, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem before, and had their dog grow its hair back. And its not the thyroid the vet has checked that...

Was he truly diagnosed with Alopecia? I never heard of that in dogs. There are treatments for people, not sure about dogs.

Hair loss in dogs is usually attributed to other illnesses. Even just as people age. In the aging animal other organs and hormone balancing glands do not do their job. Hair loss is very commen in dogs with an out of whack thyroid.

I think if you find the underlying cause of the hair loss you will find the hair will grow back.

I don't think there is anything that will grow the hair back. You can add omega3 fish oil to the foog and feed a dog food high in Omega3. Nutro guarantees to improve coat and skin.
