I don't live in WV, and I've traveled a bit, but everywhere I go the only state I see engraved is the WV outline. Most times the numeral "1" is embossed within the outline. I've always wondered what it means. Certainly not all cans are made in WV, or are they?

West Virginia's demographics are similar to those of a lot of other states. When push comes to shove only the most left wing liberals and rabid Bush haters ( funny, since he's not running) will join the Black community in voting for Obama. He will be the Walter Mondale of the 2008 election cycle. We do not want a socialist, racist in the White House. We cannot afford one.

It might have to do with WV tax laws or food laws. Its laws probably require some sort of certification and in order to sell the product in WV, it has to have the imprint.

I came across reference to WV taxing soda, so that might be the link.

I also live in WV and thought that it was because it was being sold here in the state. I didn't know it was on everyones.

We do not have that here. I bet it is where the can is made itself. I do not think it make a difference in what in the bottle.
