Most believers will respond saying that they do not believe in a literal flood. They believe that the Bible is metaphorical, and that there is some value to be found in the story of a god destroying all life on earth in response to the actions of the human species.

First of all, the Biblical Flood as described in the Bible never happened. It is a myth, part of the folklore of Judao-Christianity. But myths arise from somewhere. For there to be a myth about a great flood, great floods needed to have taken place.

And boy did they ever. 18,000 years ago, all of Canada and much of Europe and the United States were covered by ice. Somehow all that ice melted, and it caused massive floods. These floods include the Great Lakes, Hudson Bay, and the coastlines - the sites of our coastal cites were well inland during the Ice Age. And the creation of the Mediterranean and Black Seas must have constituted a humongous flood whenever they were created.

No, all the water is on the surface of the Earth. The water to provide the floods came from the great ice sheets that melted. A God is not needed to explain them. Since all the water was conserved, no mass was lost or gained, and so Earth's mass stayed the same. The only time when Earth's mass changes is when a huge asteroid hits. Some crust and some atmosphere could go shooting out into space. The same thing happened to Mars several times, and some of those rocks flung made their way to Earth, such as ALH48001.

Since all the mass on the Earth stayed put, the Moon's orbit did not change for the most part. Now with less water around there could have been less of a tidal impact, and that could have caused the Moon to be a millimeter closer to us than back then than if there had been no melting and floods.

It's been proven, that if the earth flooded, There would be no metal, even with time. for the ammount of water the bible implied, the moisture content in the air would be too great. The mountians would crumble. All the natural metals would cerase to exist. The air would be unbreathable, because if rust.

Not to mention, the inbreeding for the "two of every kind"

you start with just two, then you would have to breed brother's with sister's, daughter's with father's, mother's with son's.

And also acording to the bible, incest is immoral, so why would God prevoke it?

The bible is just a really good STORY to derive morals from, not to be taken literally. The Noah's Arch story is suposed to show that God created life, and God can destray it, so be carefull with his vengance.

if there were oceans then and the sun did evaporate water as it does now and clouds were forming, then all the water that came was from the earth. The only difference was high accumulation of water in the forms of clouds with a divine purpose. So nothing came from outside so no change in earth mass.

no. all the water on the earth that is here now was here then. God just relocated some of it to a specific spot to kill off most of the man he created. nobody knows if the moon was affected but many believe it was the culprit. that God used the moon to drag tides in and help with the flood

Well if there was a vapor canopy in the atmosphere and that melted then I would have to say yes. The earths mass had to change somewhat. As for the moons orbit I have no idea. But can you explain the missing day we have in space??? Why we have 365 1/4 days. Well the Bible does.

Now, you are showing ignorance it two fields, science and religion. How could the flood increase the Earth's mass, when all the water would have to have come from the atmosphere? Secondly, the Bible states is took days for the waters to recede. YBIC

maximum technological awareness fiction writers and many astronomers call our moon Luna. similarly the sunlight is named Sol and the Earth is named Terra. "Sol" and "Luna" are used way maximum ordinarily than "Terra". EDIT: Wow! I surely have 2 thumbs down for describing how some million human beings use language - this has truly struck a nerve. i think of that technological awareness fiction writers frequently circumvent "The sunlight", "the Moon" and "the Earth" with the aid of fact they are imagining a time while those bodies are not to any extent further of necessary magnitude. while sufficient human beings stay someplace else, the language is in possibility of exchange. And it somewhat isn't any longer in basic terms technological awareness fiction writers who use those words. I surely have considered them utilized in commonly used technological awareness writing, however possibly no longer presently.

I'd recommend not mixing science with belief. If everything from the bible could be explained scientifically then "belief" would not exist, there would be only "knowledge".The sad thing is that mainly the bible contains sciencifical imposibilities, because in those time people weren't aware of today's prooven facts, and they easily believed that you can cure a blind man, turn water to wine etc. People of those time that beleived the bible can't be called idiot people because they really weren't aware what can and what can't be done.At the other hand people of today that still beleive in such things ,by completely ignoring science, can be called idiots!
