Its been awhile since ive ever had a cat thats had worms, it was just one on her rear end and it was white and small, though where their is one theirs usually more i know this. Her litter box is cleaned daily as well. Is their medicine i can give her at home or is it a nessassity to take her to the vet- i got her from the pound about a month ago and she passed all the vet checkups. I'm not sure how she got them.

any over-the-counter de-wormer is good. Your local grocery store should have it.
If she goes outside at all and mouses, she'll get worms. Also, you might not have noticed them before.
Easily treated though.
Note to avoid crunched fingers:
To administer the pill form if she won't eat it mixed with wet food (mine never would)
wrap kitty in towel at neck to keep paws out of the way
use a tweezers to hold the pill and put into her mouth at back of throat. (Be careful not to scratch the inside of her mouth)
Close her mouth until she swallows.
I've done this too many time the wrong way and gotten scratched and bitten.

It depends on the type of worm.
If it's small, white, looks like a grain of white rice, and possibly unjulating (moving) then it very well may be a tapeworm.
Tapeworms require a more professional type of medication. I get mine at the Town And Country store in my area that carries farm equipment, as well as stuff for pets.
The thing is, since you got your pet at the pound there's a good chance that's it's more than one type of worm. I would really suggest going to the vet for a good checkup and take a stool sample with you. The vet can look at the stool and tell you what worms are in it. If the cat didn't have a checkup after you got her, this is usually the best thing to do.

I continuously shop the different 0.5, as long because it grew to become into cut back hygienically and popped right now back interior the foil bubble, no issues. i could advise which you crush the 0.5 pill and combine it with your cat's ordinary nutrition (i take advantage of canned tuna, they could't face as much because it) with the aid of fact the sharper edges of the 0.5 pill make it complicated for the cat to swallow. 3 month-to-month is reported based on the time it takes for person tape worms to realize adulthood, i'm informed. this type, even in the journey that your cat is selecting up malicious program eggs each and every day, she ought to in no way have a completely matured malicious program in her. If she does not bypass out, worms should not be a issue. You ca get Drontal on line from VetUK and not using a prescrpition, only pay through the pill.

You need to depending on your relationship with your vet either take your cat there or get hte proper medication from them. I would imagine if you need to ask this you need to take it there.Tape worms cats get from fleas. If your cat has fleas he has tapeworms and will need Cestex or something similar from the vet.You would see segments of the worm under and around the cats tail. They usually get their first roundworms right along with their first meal as they are available right in their mothers milk. This is why it is so important to regularly worm for them throughout their first year of life. It has nothing at all to do with how clean her litter box is but of course it's good to clean it every day.

You can get the pills and worm her yourself but that can be hard. My cat had the same problem and when I took him to the vet they said they couldn't find any. That was hugh waste of money but so is dealing with heart worms. I would take her just so you don't have to do it or the worms around the house. You might want get her checked for Feline lukemia of of FIV. My cat I got from the pound got FeLuk from the pound but she lived for 8 yrs.

There are OTC dewormers. You can get them almost anywhere! Make sure you follow the dosage instructions, and keep an eye on her poo to make sure they come out! This may make her go out of her litter box, which she won't be able to help! When she needs to go, she'll need to go. I would give her the dewormer, wait a week, and if no sign of them coming out, call your vet for just a regular checkup. If you don't see them come out, call your vet for sure and make an appointment! Good Luck

Bring a stool sample to the vet and have them check out what parasite(s) she has. They will prescribe the medication that she'll need to get rid of the worms. At our clinic we need two consecutive stool samples test negative to be diagnosed clear of worms.

Put some liquid chlorophyll in her water and food. That will take care of the worms and detoxify her blood.

it kind of sounds like a tapeworm. my one cat had them when i first got him from the pound. they aren't detectable in feeces, they tend to crawl out the bum when the animal is sleeping. check her sleeping area for what looks like little bits of rice. it's easily treated, but she must be taken to the vet. one shot is all it takes.
