... i doubt he will like me because i accidently started a rumor that he was gay. This was before i liked him though. He was really mad but he says he forgives me although he still hates my best friend. I it sounds bad but i explained what happened to him. My best friend asked me if i thought he was gay. So then i asked 3 other friends of mine. One of those friends decided to ask like everyone in our grade and say that i told her they were. So now grades 7-9 r talking about it. and he is really mad. and also how bad is this and y is it so bad? and could he like me after this?!

When I was younger, trivial things like rumors and whether or not someone liked me or not played a big part in my life. Of course this is normal for anyone entering their teenage and during their teenage years. What I would do is accept the responsibility that a rumor started and that you DID have a part in it, whether it was intentional or not. I know you have spoken to this guy about it and he will probably remain hurt despite the fact that he claims he forgives you. In truth, he may have forgiven you, but it doesn't mean he doesn't still hurt because he lost trust in you. The only thing you can do is give it time and to rebuild that trust again. There are of course no guarentees, but in time you will find that the rumors will disappear and a new one would begin about someone else and his situation is no longer important or remembered. If you really like this guy, sit down with him and/or write him a letter explaining that you never meant to hurt him and that you understand what you did. Tell him that you learned from your actions and that you are also suffering the consequences. Don't blame others like blaming the friend who misconstrued your words to others. Show responsibilty by accepting your part and tell him that you honestly want to regain his trust with time. Maybe he will come around, maybe he won't. If he doesn't, so what? Don't forget that there are a million other guys out there for you to meet. Just make sure you learn from your lesson and start the page fresh.

You've got a dilemna, but it can work out. First of all, you have to get him alone with you and apologize for what has happenned, also that it was taken out of context by those you were talking to. Tell him that you would not want to be with him if you really thought he was gay. If all fails then just tell him that you really liked him so much that having people think he was gay would keep him all to yourself. The extreme last resort would be to tell him that he should go out with you to end the rumours of his sexuality....and see what happens from there. Good luck
