He should be caring and attentive but not obsessive and clingy. I think you should stay away from any guy that is controlling or emotionally unstable. Drugs and alcohol use should make you reconsider a relationship as well.
If he treats his family with respect that is a good sign too.
How does he treat you around his friends and family? Same as he treats you when you are alone? If he degrades you in any way dump him!
There are lots of bad apples out there but there are lots of good ones too!

Being understanding and supportive but the most valuable attribute in life I think is a good sense of humour, being able to laugh at what life throws at you and realise nothing is THAT important to get you down. Dumpable offences is taking life too seriously and trying to control you - I speak from experience!

Apart from thinking that you are the most gorgeous creature to walk on the earth (very important), I think a good boyfriend should display excellent manners so that he is always a credit to you. He must be prepared to act properly in front of your parents and listen to your deaf maiden aunt's wartime stories with the utmost patience and good grace. He should always be clean and well presented ... any lack of grooming would be insult to you. He should laugh at your awful jokes and be prepared to hold your hair away from your face as you puke up your guts after a night's boozing. He should think you look gorgeous in the morning (when you think you look like a zombie) and he should ALWAYS think that your bum looks good in anything you wear.
I think, however, that if he loves you that all these things just come naturally ...

Well I think that everyone likes different things so it really depends on what you like. I think that a boyfriend should make you laugh, treat you with kindness and respect but not take your crap, you should look forward to seeing him and being with him should make you feel special.
Dumpable offenses are a bit more universal though... if he cheats on you get rid of him (no questions asked), if you feel bad about yourself when you are with him, he does not respect your opinions or feelings, if you find yourself thinking about what it would be like without this person in your life then you probably don't need them in your life. If he is a doormat you don't want to be with him.... basically you should listen to your gut. If there are alarms going off then pay attention to them.

Please don't listen to stupid answers. A good quality is something that will compliment your own life. Honesty is key. Knowing how to communicate is critical. Sending you roses and a poem from the heart helps. If 9 out of 10 things he does for himself and for you are great, than he's a keeper.

a boyfrined has to have a great personality, he should be ahppy and funny never be in a bad mood and he shold always make his girl laugh ..the bad qualities would be he is rude to u or ur freinds and family and doesn't give a crap about anyone but himself

Bad:
Hate, dishonorable, disloyal, weak, dumb, abusive, lazy, unfaithful, conceited, irresponsible, and disrespectful.
