my friend had braids for a while and she used to get lots of dandruf, she took them out and used hair oil that I got her from the Indian Store. It smells nice and gets rid of the dandruf. You apply it and leave it in as long as you can ( a couple of hours) then wash out he residue. She put the braids back in and then would apply the oil very lightly to her scalp while she had the braids and she didnt get dandruf that time she had braids. Its called Bio Amla hair tonic and oil. I use it and I never get dandruf anymore. Good luck!

The braids may be tough on your scalp and they trap oils and bacteria which cause dandruff. Try a dandruff shampoo like head & shoulders or try taking your braids out or a while and see if the problem clears up.

Nizoral shampoo at least twice a week and I promise it will manage the dandruff. You may use another dandruff shampoo between shampoos during those twice weekly shampoos with the Nizoral.

My dad buys this shampoo called Denorex, I've tried it before, I used it only twice a week, my head felt fresh, and it worked. Just make sure you use that shampoo first and then another, I didn't like the smell of it. http://www.denorex.com/
