On a health channel in the Dr's office, they stated it costs about $7200 per year for 1 child! Then you add about $3500 for each additional child.

My son is 11 months and I spend about $200 on diapers and formula monthly (and thats LUVS and store brand formula) plus about $125 a month on baby food and cereal for him.

Then you have to think about toys, bottles, and so on. It's expensive!

About 10 years ago it was $275,000. I would say now it's about $350,000. I know for a fact, that 14 years from now a community college education will be $30K a year, Ivy League $60K a year, so it is best to save $$, invest in bonds, or property as to ensure the education for your child, and if he/she doesn't want to join the ranks of the college force perhaps a trade like plumbing, nursing, or a medical field position that a vocational school might offer are more essential than a degree.
